What this service is

HealthCodes API is a read-only API over Belgian healthcare nomenclature reference data published by RIZIV/INAMI. We parse the official files, keep every version, and serve them as JSON with the provenance of each answer.

HealthCodes API is an independent developer service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by RIZIV/INAMI. Official publications remain authoritative. We are not a source of legal or medical truth. For any billing, legal or clinical decision, the official publication governs, not our copy of it. If the two ever disagree, the official publication is right and we are wrong.

Accuracy, and its limits

We take accuracy seriously: every import is keyed to the hash of the source archive it came from, nothing is ever overwritten, and every response can be traced back to the bytes it was derived from. What we do not promise is that the source itself is complete, or that we have re-imported it within any particular window. Check the source status page for what is currently loaded.

Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your API keys secret. Anything done with your key is treated as done by you. Revoke a key from the dashboard the moment you suspect it has leaked.
• One account is for one organisation. Reselling access, or sharing a key outside the organisation that holds the account, is not permitted.
• You may not attempt to reconstruct the whole dataset by exhaustive querying in order to redistribute it. The underlying facts are public and you are free to obtain them from the official source; what you are paying us for is the service, not exclusivity.

Quotas and fair use

Each plan includes a monthly request allowance and a rate limit, both shown on the pricing page and returned on every response. Going over the allowance does not incur a charge: requests are refused with HTTP 429 until the allowance resets on the 1st. You will never be billed for traffic you did not agree to in advance.

Payment

• Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in euro, excluding VAT.
• Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see your card details.
• You can cancel at any time from the dashboard. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not refund part-periods.
• If a payment fails, access continues while Stripe retries. It stops if the subscription is ultimately cancelled.

Availability

We aim to keep the service up and we watch it, but this is not sold with a contractual uptime guarantee or service credits. If you need one, talk to us about an Enterprise agreement rather than assuming it.

Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

In particular: we are not liable for a reimbursement claim that is rejected, a tariff applied incorrectly, or any clinical or administrative decision taken on the basis of data obtained here. Verify against the official publication.

Ending it

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service, to evade quotas, or in breach of these terms — we will tell you why, and refund the unused part of a period if the suspension turns out to be our mistake.

Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes will be announced on the changelog and by email to account holders before they take effect.

Law

Belgian law applies, and the courts of Belgium have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer rather than a business, this does not remove protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
