What this is, and what it is not

This is a reference-data API. It answers what a healthcare service is called, how it is classified, what it costs and what was reimbursed, today or on any past date.

It is not an electronic health record, not a claims system, not an eHealth integration and not clinical decision support. It holds no patient data of any kind, which is also why integrating it carries none of the obligations that come with handling one.

Where it fits

Practice management software looking codes up at the point of entry. Billing systems validating an amount against the date care was given. Hospital systems that need stable reference tables with provenance. Analytics that need a code to still mean something three years later.

Built for integration, not for browsing

Predictable JSON, one error envelope, cursor pagination, an OpenAPI description, and quota headers on every response. Amounts are strings rather than floats, because they are money.
